Hi my name is Regalene, I started dancing in Montreal at an early age of seven, when my mom
entered me into tap. I then went on to Jazz for many years, till my early twenties. I then met my
husband and had two wonderful children; I decided to put dancing on the back burner.
I then got interested in the Sweet Adelines in Edmonton, Gateway Chorus Region 26 - What a
wonderful organization if you love to sing and dance.
We entered competition once a year and put on large stage productions where we got to strut our
stuff. I was with Gateway chorus for five years as a front row dancer/singer during which I sang
lead. I also served on the Board of Directors and was marketing co-ordinator.
One day I saw an ad for Belly dancing. I wanted to surprise my chorus so I went for a class and
was instantly hooked and have been studying and performing ever since.
In 1995 I began my dance studies in Edmonton. Isis Dance Productions, (Anemone Ruger) . My
family moved to Kitchener Ontario where I continued to study under Kara Wenman in Guelph for a
little over a year.
Since then, I have attended classes and workshops with various professional dancers/instructors.
which include Karen Hunt, Yasmina Ramsy, Momo Kodous, Voula, Dharlene, Khizmet, Paula
Thompson, Ishra, Alana, Kassia, Nada and Saba. I also have taken the teacher training with
Hadia I currently teach in Kitchener/Waterloo, and Elmira Ontario Canada.
The Belly dance community is like a large family in every corner of the world! Check out some of
their sites in the Links section.
To all my Belly Buddies...
